i am twenty-six years of age, married to my best friend, mom to the sweetest baby girl, and currently living as an intercessory missionary at the international house of prayer in kansas city.
i love to write. i love to play. i enjoy a good chai tea latte. i am too competitive. i always add peppermint to my hot chocolate. i enjoy a good work out. i love hearing peoples’ stories. i am an easy laugher. i love going by myself to coffee shops. shopping stresses me out. i could live off of ice-cream. i always sleep on my stomach and i have a bizarre memory.
I like your blog. I am just blog surfing and it caught my attention. Never heard of an intercessory missionary before although i guess I can figure out what I think it might mean.

You quoted a song in your blog awhile back:
“Do you remember, do you remember the first time when you felt His presence, the presence of the Spirit? ‘Cause He’s a person with emotions, with thoughts, and He wants to talk to you. He wants to get to know you. Do you remember when you felt His presence for the first time? And He’s like wind. He’s like rain. He’s like fire. He’s like oil. He’s the anointed. And some of you are needing a fresh infilling. You are needing a touch from the Spirit. And He said, ‘How much more will I give my Spirit? I give generously. I give freely.’ Are you hungry? Are you open? Do you believe? Because all you have to have is hunger. All you have to be is open. All you have to do is believe in your heart that He will come to you. He will come to you. He will touch you today. He will give you strength, renew your vision, renew your heart, your mind in clarity and understanding, in wisdom. So if you are hungry, if you’re open, if you believe, open up your hands and receive the Spirit, receive the Spirit. For He’s like wind. He’s like rain. He’s like fire. He’s like oil.”
What song is that and where can I get a copy?

Hi Stephanie,
The song is called, “He is like” and I have only found it (so far) on the Limited Edition Volume 20 CD, put out by IHOP, (Aug-Sept 2008) on the second CD of the set. Here’s a link: http://www.ihop.org/Publisher/Article.aspx?ID=1000023687. Hope that helps!

Eliza,
I stumbled upon your blog while looking for the lyrics to “He is like.” I love your writing. You are an excellent communicator and give a lot of insight into your life and into the world of IHOP. It is an encouragement to read someone as open and honest as you.
My sister-in-law spent the last two years at FMA and about a month ago Gloria and Jessica Willard came and spoke at our women’s retreat. It was a divine pleasure, for sure!
Blessings and strength to you today!

Thanks for your comment, Melanie. You must be from Oregon? I was just in a meeting with Gloria yesterday and she was sharing about that conference! It sounds like it was an incredible time.

Hi! I’m friends w/ Mary Stafford & started reading your blog when she mentioned it on hers
My son has/had sooooo many of the same issues as Hannah & it has taken us a full 2 years (plus!) to get good answers. I was hoping I could share some info with you if you’re looking for it – I know I sure was…day & night, searching & researching for anything to help! Feel free to email me with any questions. I haven’t had enough time lately to be totally up to date on everything w/ Hannah but saw the post about her appt w/ the GI. (if it makes you feel better, I had a dead battery before one of Gavin’s big appts too!! We had just moved to a new n’hood, knew NO one & a total stranger let me borrow her (new!) car to take him to his appt!! She was an angel – no doubt about it – a little nuts for just giving me her new car when I was so tired/emotional/hormonal…but an angel!)
Anyway, I’m happy to answer any ?s you might have or just LISTEN! If I can spare you some of the grief we had, it’s worth it!!
