It has been a week…

….and rightfully so.  After a Christmas that didn’t totally feel like Christmas but was enjoyable nonetheless, Russell and I have been busy!

onething:  IHOP’s end of the year “onething” conference started on the 28th.  About 16,000 people from across the country (and the globe, for that matter) have flocked to downtown Kansas City for four days of paradigm-shifting teaching and really good times of worship.  Although I feel a bit out of place in such large settings, I have really enjoyed the time that I have been able to spend down at Bartle Hall– both in attendance and service.  More thoughts to come as I find time to process..

bud-a-tud:  My college roommate gave me the best Christmas present this year by making the trek out to KC with her boyfriend, Michael.  Mary is one of my absolutely favorite people to spend time with.  We laugh (hard).  We dance (when nobody is looking).  And we talk about Jesus.  It’s a dream come true, really.  Russell and I have loved getting to know Michael and think he’s the greatest.  I’ll leave it at that.

ren-o-vations:  The master bath is the main project as of late.  Russell successfully expanded the room by moving a wall out about a foot.  We tore out the old shower and every square inch of drywall… as well as the vanity, the floor tile, etc.  Russell installed a new fan and a new tub, constructed a new wall, re-wired the electricity, and hung all of the drywall.  The first coat of mudding is complete and will be sanded tomorrow.

Pictures are a-coming.
