Today, Jaclyn turns the big 2-7 and I’m totally wishing that Austin, Texas was closer…
You see, birthdays have always been a pretty big deal in our friendship. And Jaclyn knows how to plan for special days like the best of them. For my 17th birthday, she woke me up, blindfolded me, drove me to a nearby lake, put me in a canoe, rowed us to the middle of the lake, and took my blindfold off… only for me to see another canoe-full of my friends rowing up to us so that we could all have breakfast together. Now that requires some serious planning! And that was only the morning part of my special day.
The way that Jaclyn plans birthdays epitomizes her as a friend. She is faithful to the core. She is the most loyal friend I have. She is dedicated. Selfless. Patient. And crazy fun. My best memories of all of life include Jax. We even have home videos to prove it.
So, Jax- here’s to you. May this be your best year yet. You certainly deserve it.
You made me cry! Thank you for writing that. And what I wouldn’t give to be in a canoe eating Bodo’s bagels and writing songs with you right now…. love you so much!!!
